This image shows latex collection cups grouped together on a young rubber tree. It symbolises the rubber tree's value as a commodity to British planter and subsequently Malaysian plantatation owners. A rubber tree could yield maximum latex production for the first 25 years of its life. Research and development that was spearheaded by H.N Ridley and then Lembaga Getah Malaysia has made Malaysia as one of the leaders in natural latex production in Malaysia.
